Purity For God

"Blessed are the pure in heart,

    for they will see God."

MATTHEW 5:8

The Lord desires the pure in heart - for they are clean - prepared to feast with the Lord. Purity is truth - love and living in harmony with the way of Jesus. Purity is born of love and truth. To be purified in Jesus - is to walk with him completely - to love his Word and his Way. In this you are made pure.

How closely you choose to walk with Jesus - will be how purified and clean you become. In his grace he will give you love to give others. He is love - an abundant everlasting source. Seek Jesus with all your heart and all your mind - He is the Lord.

To maintain an inner dialogue with the Holy Spirit of God is one area of purity - to also be able to maintain this purity outwardly in the face of other people and their opinions is also what we are called to do. It is easy to be pulled away from the Lord in the face of anger, dissenting thoughts and judgements by others - but that is specifically what the Lord asks of us. We are to be a light in the dark - not just a light amongst the light - for what good is that?

Allow the light of God to emanate through you in situations in which your natural self would typically be drawn out of you. This is how a person in the darkness may come and see the light - and say to themselves - this person does have the light of God within them - and they may seek God and be saved and set free. We are not called to save souls - only Jesus Christ can do that. We are to be the light for him and direct people to him. We are not called to sell God to people and talk people into following him - but we are called to be a light and let his will be seen in us so a non-believer will see God and follow him.

We are but a tool to be used by faith and obedience. It is God that will do what is necessary to save the one that stands before you. So be willing to let your ways be finished and allow the Holy Spirit that dwells within to have his way.

"Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:16

“Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift." Matthew 5:23-24

"So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart." 2 Timothy 2:22
